Your teaching reflection guide

Before You Try Another Cue

We’re glad you’re taking a few minutes for your teaching. Start with one movement you already teach, then work through the prompts below.

Use within your training and your client’s needs. Stop or adapt if a movement causes pain. Notes on this page are not saved or sent. Leave out names and identifying client details.

1. Clarify the goal.

What do I want this client to practice in this movement?

2. Observe the response.

What do I notice about the setup, range, breathing, pace, or the client’s understanding?

3. Change one thing.

Would a clearer setup, a smaller range, a different pace, or a simpler cue support the goal?

4. Reflect and choose.

What changed? What stayed the same? What question would help me choose my next step?

You don’t need every answer to make a thoughtful teaching choice. Keep noticing, keep asking, and keep learning.
